margaretcMargaret Collins, Director of Cambridge Economic Research, has over 20 years’ international experience in innovative economic development, transportation, and land use planning and analysis. She has headed projects in over 200 cities in 60 countries spanning six continents. She was formerly the Director of Land Use Analysis with Economic Development Research Group, a leading firm in economic impact analysis of major transportation and infrastructural investments. She is an expert in analysis of trade, transportation, and real estate markets and in formulation of successful strategies to create jobs and to develop commercial and industrial sites. Ms. Collins has advised economic development agencies, transportation authorities, research institutes, and private developers throughout the world on economic strategies, infrastructure investment, and project feasibility.  She has served an expert witness for cases involving zoning, real estate development, and racial discrimination. 

Prior to establishing Cambridge Economic Research, Ms. Collins was Director of the Scotland Office of Roger Tym & Partners for 6 years where she worked with European transportation and economic development agencies on transportation, economic development, and real estate projects. She has a BA from Webster Univeristy in History/Political Science and an MA in Urban Planning from Washington University in St. Louis.  She is a full member of the American Institute of Certified Planners and is a member of the Massachusetts Chapter of the American Planning Association.   She has published a book and several articles and speaks regularly on urban economic and real estate development topics. Born in Ireland, she is a dual citizen of the US and the EU.
